Overview
As the DCNR’s Forestry Resource Management Center (FRMC) grew over the years, its office’s spatial constraints and age began to limit their capacity to maintain and preserve the Commonwealth’s parks and forests. To resolve this, we were selected to design an FRMC addition and renovation.
This sustainability-focused project featured geothermal ground source heat pumps, low-flow water fixtures, daylighting controls, porous paving, and bio-retention trenching along the existing paved surfaces, which in turn achieved LEED® Certification. The project also added a multi-purpose meeting and training room, administrative offices, break room, ADA compliant restrooms, basement storage, and a garage.
