Overview

As a result of Temple University’s satisfaction with our Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) services at the Main University Campus and the Science and Medical School, The Temple University Health System (TUHS) requested that we provide an evaluation of their properties through a Facility Condition Assessment.

We provided Facility Condition Assessment services at each of the main hospitals within the University’s hospital system. The FCAs identified, categorized, and prioritized deferred maintenance, capital renewal, and capital improvement projects, helping TUHS management make informed budgeting and planning decisions. Over 70 facilities consisting of approximately 7.5M sq.ft. were assessed, in addition to site and infrastructure assessments and facility re-assessments that we conducted in subsequent years on recurring cycles.

We performed initial Facility Condition Assessments at 58 facilities, totaling over 6.3M sq.ft. across Temple University Health System’s main campuses, including:

• Temple University Hospital
• TUH - Jeanes Campus
• TUH - Northeastern Campus
• TUH - Episcopal Campus

We assessed an additional 12 buildings totaling over 1.2M sq.ft. in a subsequent survey of:

• Fox Chase Cancer Center

At each campus, we examined the components of the various architectural and mechanical systems, identifying system deficiencies, anticipated renewals, and recommended improvements.

As a result of these assessments, the Temple University Health System now has centralized data that will enable them to project their long-range capital plans and budgets across the various sites of the hospital system. TUHS found tremendous value from our services and developed a recurring re-assessment schedule to keep their FCA data up to date.

In addition to providing these re-surveys and data updates, we provided consulting services, meeting with various entities within the Health System to review and offer insights for the projects we had identified.
