Humes Elected as First Vice President of PWEA Board of Directors

READING, PA – Entech is pleased to announce that Kara Humes, Senior Environmental Manager, was recently elected as First Vice-President of the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association (PWEA) Board of Directors.

Kara officially began her term as of the Association’s 92nd Annual Technical Conference held June 20-23, 2021. Board members represent each of the three local sections of PWEA which include the central, eastern, and western Pennsylvania associations.

Kara has been an active member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Operator Association’s (EPWPCOA) Industrial Pretreatment Committee since 2001, acting as Chair of the Committee from 2003 through 2010. She served as Association Vice President in 2010 & 2011, President in 2012, and is currently serving as a Director.

PWEA was formed in 1926 and became affiliated with the national association, the Water Environment Federation (WEF) in 1928.  PWEA provides technical education and training for water quality professionals and information focusing on the preservation, protection, and improvement of water resources throughout Pennsylvania.

About Kara:
Kara has 37 years of experience in environmental management consulting and acts as senior environmental manager for Entech. She manages a variety of projects located throughout the United States, including industrial pretreatment issues for both industry and municipalities, permitting and reporting involving air, wastewater, and solid waste, emergency response planning, and other environmental regulatory compliance issues.
