Many of us in the oil and natural gas industries have been anxiously anticipating an announcement regarding Shell Chemical’s (Shell) Cracker Plant. The wait is over – Shell officially announced they are moving forward with an ethane cracker plant in Pennsylvania.
This announcement means that the abundant Marcellus Shale gas produced regionally, will be processed locally, creating raw materials for manufacturing, which can be utilized as a competitive advantage for businesses and our region.
To quote Governor Wolf, "This is not just another company that is bringing 'X' number of jobs to Pennsylvania... This is actually something that is creating a foundation for a whole new set of manufacturing products."
